Resident Reviews

submitted by Alena W. - |Recommended: YesNice Place Close to UTD — Rented an apartment for my daughter, sight unseen, but based on reviews solely. We were not disappointed. Her unit was clean and freshly painted when she moved in. The complex is well kept, the pool is lovely. Maintenance is handled quickly and professionally. It is only a three mile commute to UTD and extremely conveniently located to all shopping. Her apartment came with a washer dryer combo which is very convenient. The neighbors are friendly as well and it has been a very good first time apartment experience.

submitted by Adrian E. - |Recommended: YesThe only improvement is parking. — I love this complex, I only wish there were more gated parking spots. One of reason we were attracted to these apartments was because of the controlled access gates. So I'm not too thrilled that half the time I have to park in outside the gate. The parking lot off of Duffield should really be gated

submitted by Mark Y. - |Recommended: YesQuiet and Comfortable with Good Maintenance of Grounds — It is an older complex with a mix of students, dog-lovers, and retired folk. The pool and workout facilities are in great shape and there is a decent laundry facility next to the leasing office. Parking is difficult if you come home later than 9 or 10 PM, but at least there is parking. The worse you have to do is walk a longer distance. The surrounding neighborhood is nice, and there is a convenient gas station right next to the property. It is close to a Kroger market. The property is not close to a UTD Shuttle, so it is probably not a good choice for students without a car. Overall, I really like the management, and the property has been taken care of over the years despite the older age.

submitted by Ngoc H. - |Recommended: YesPerfect for a student — It's peaceful and well maintained. The maintenance team is very responsive and friendly. I see one particular maintenance man almost everyday after work and he greets me. It makes me feel so welcomed. The office staff is helpful. The manager, Peggy, is very understanding and courteous. The grounds are well-kept, especially with so many dogs pooping. Most pet owners pick up after their pets. My only complaint is parking. The other reviewers are right, if you come home after 8-9pm ish parking inside the gates are mostly gone. Sometimes you get lucky. Even parking in the far lot, it's not that far of a walk. The price is also reasonable for what you get. I love the option of having a washer and dryer in the unit without rent skyrocketing. Oh, and their pet policy is also very good. I don't like paying a monthly pet fee so I rather pay a higher deposit and up front fee. They also seem to be more lenient on the breed and size restriction. Overall, McCallum Highlands is a hidden gem. I like that it's the only complex around the neighborhood.

submitted by Jose C. - |Recommended: YesNot too bad — Need more strict rules for parking violators. Overall all the rest is not bad.
submitted by Mark W. - |Recommended: YesAWESOME — I have lived at McCallum Highlands for approximately 7 years. This is my home, and will be for years to come The management is so very nice, they show true interest in their tenants and I watch them take extra care of our little ones around the community. Peggy, the apartment manager, always has a smile for me and if I need to speak to her, she makes time. The maintenance department is always extremely quick to respond to requests. They are also very personable and I enjoy seeing them around the community as well, smiling. The community is also a quiet one. Rarely are their any issues with noise. I have never had any problems with sketchy characters here. I enjoy leaving my windows open during the short time each year the seasons permit it...lol. I feel extremely fortunate to have found this community to live in. I look forward to many more years of living in my home
submitted by Clint P. - |Recommended: YesConvenient location and great rent — It has everything one would need and the rent is very reasonable
submitted by Perlita L. - |Recommended: YesIt's comfortable — It's Comfortable but we were told that the apartment we were getting had a balcony that faced the Spa area and since our apartment wasn't ready to look at we looked at a different one. It was kinda disappointing. Over all its not too bad. The pool is nice. The gym is a bit rundown but I like my apartment space.
response from property -Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry for any confusion regarding your unit at move-in. Regarding the gym, you will be pleased to know we just installed a new treadmill yesterday, and we have ordered other new equipment that should be in the gym soon. Sincerely, McCallum Highlands

submitted by Mohamed H. - |Recommended: YesVery nice community — Very nice and quiet community, professional management. Maintenance always on time.the only problem here is the parking , if u come come home after 9 oclock is most likely to find ur parking outside the gate.but overall is one of the best places to call home in North dallas.
response from property -Thank you Mohamed! We try our best to maintain a quiet and comfortable community. I too have to agree with you about the parking. It can be frustrating at times!
submitted by Nataile G. - |Recommended: YesI absolutely loved living here — From the moment I walked into the McCallum Highlands leasing office, I loved the place. I was greeted by the lovely manager who showed me an apartment and gave me all necessary the community information. Maintenance was very prompt and the entire staff are very courteous and professional. The complex is a short one mile walk to the UTD shuttle and other public transportation. Parking after seven p.m can be limited but even far parking is very close. Other tenants are very considerate too and I never had anything but pleasantries with them. The community is ideal for grocery shopping, there is a Tom Thumb a little over one mile away, as well as Natural Grocers and Sprouts close by. It is a short drive to Whole Foods as well as Walmart. All in all a truly amazing place to stay. Take a peak, you will love it too
